Doctor Biography

Dr. Daly was born in Freeport, New York, and spent his childhood in Hartford, Connecticut, and West Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated Cum Laude from Holy Cross College with a BA in Chemistry. He enjoyed 4 years of medical school at Boston University School of Medicine, and then did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Boston VA Medical Center.

Dr. Daly opened his solo practice of internal medicine across the street from Merrimack College in August 1980. He continued private practice in offices in Andover and North Andover for the next 15 years. By 1996, Dr. Daly tried joining a small group practice in Andover, then a medium-sized group practice in North Andover. But in both situations patients complained that they were not receiving the personal attention and care that they needed, so he returned to solo private practice in February 2000 with unanimous approval from patients.

Dr. Daly enjoys the intellectual stimulation of academic involvement, and has held a position as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine, since 1990. He has years of medical administration experience in several capacities. He was the founding president of a small Physician Hospital Organization in the 1990s, and spent several years working for Tufts Associated Health Plans on the Board of Directors, Central Physician Committee, and as a Physician Reviewer. He has also been the chairman of numerous hospital committees at Lawrence General Hospital and Holy Family Hospital. He has given several professional presentations to the medical staffs of LGH and HFH.

The medical staff and nursing staff of both LGH and HFH humorously recall Dr. Daly’s tireless attempts to improve the quality of patient care at both hospitals. He wrote, organized and directed the annual "Nurses Night Live", comedy-night parties for each hospital for 15 years, each designed to promote a collaborative relationship amongst the professional staff, with the goal of improving patient care and patient outcomes.

When not practicing medicine or studying complementary healing modalities, Dr. Daly enjoys kayaking, photography, travel and sharing time with his family.
